Elders Climate Action Day

In the U.S., senior citizens are most likely to cast ballots in an election. Given this high rate of voting, older Americans hold political capital and have the opportunity for their voices to be heard on issues that are most important to them. The Elders Climate Action campaign aims to build a movement of concerned Baby Boomers and members of the Greatest Generation to promote clean energy solutions.

The campaign recognizes that personal behavior change alone is insufficient and that collective action and large scale policy changes are necessary to protect our families and communities. Members of Elders Climate Action are motivated by the need to leave the legacy of a healthy planet for their children and grandchildren. “We have arrived at the undeniable realization that if we don’t do something now, our grandchildren and future generations will suffer from our inaction.” The campaign is organizing a day of action in Washington, DC on April 28, 2017 to deliver messages urging support for clean energy solutions to members of Congress.
