Alliance for Jobs and Clean Energy: Community Climate Tour

As federal climate policy faces increased opposition, emphasizing the potential for state-level solutions is more important than ever. By focusing on “homegrown clean energy and technology,” the Alliance for Jobs and Clean Energy is building support for the creation of well-paying jobs and better consumer choices for Washington State communities. A coalition of climate leaders, organizations and businesses have come together motivate support for reducing climate pollution. The Community Climate Tour is travelling throughout Washington State to “talk about the critical climate challenge we face and the Alliance’s comprehensive policy to tackle the problem with a solution that works for everyone.”

The campaign is encouraging Washington residents to help protect public health, improve quality of life for local families and strengthen the state’s economy. Through listening tours and public engagement with individuals impacted by climate change, the Alliance is learning directly from Washington communities and incorporating input from a range of stakeholders across communities of color and low income communities, as well as representatives from labor, environmental, faith, health groups. The Alliance aims to mobilize a more diverse climate movement and invest in frontline communities who are disproportionately harmed by climate pollution through a just clean energy transition.
