In preparation for COP17, 350.org launched a new campaign called Radio Wave to tap into the power of music.
350.org created Radio Wave to bring attention to the 2011 Climate Change Conference in Durban, South Africa. They hope to inspire climate activists to spread a message about the ways climate change is already affecting the people of Africa and how we can overcome this crisis. The song, “People Power,” features South African musicians and is a call to action for the climate movement.
350.org is encouraging local climate organizers to reach out to local radio stations to share the song, arrange interviews with radio program hosts or DJs or submit pre-recorded public service announcements. In order to faciliate these actions, they provide tips, talking points and a sample script.
