"If we don't talk about it, we'll be hiding a disease."
In preparation for COP17 in Durban, ResourceAfrica UK invited people from around Tanzania to tell their stories of how the climate is affecting their way of life. These individuals testify to the fact that climate change is not something that will happen in the future, but is here today. At the Tanzanian Community Testimonials Conference in Dar es Salaam, individuals shared how changes in rainfall and sea level rise are impacting fishing and agriculture, and how these challenges reinforce the cycle of poverty.
Conference participants spoke about the importance of education initiatives and efforts to combat climate change. They called for policymakers to recognize how climate change is impacting the dynamics of the pastolarlist system in Tanzania, especially for the nation's most vulnerable populations.
