A catchy song about the danger of hydraulic fractured drilling (aka “fracking”).
This two-and-a-half-minute video is a concise visual explanation of hydraulic fracturing (or ‘fracking’) and its consequences. The video, produced by David Holmes with other NYU journalism students, explains what’s involved in the process of fracking, as well as some of the legal and political history that propelled the practice throughout the United States.
It is not exhaustive; rather, it is an ‘explainer’: a starting point, a big picture, a tiny bundle of information that is direct, concise and easy to understand. It is a probe to motivate people to more about “what the frack is going on.”
